Today’s Daily Programme is here ….
La Palma is a very pretty place, we’d arrived before my alarm clock went off, I’d obviously slept through it again and then I remembered, my alarm doesn’t go off on weekends. So that’s two days I’ve missed going to the gym and I’m on a trip tomorrow and I’ll miss it again tomorrow. We had nothing special planned in La Palma, so we had decided after breakfast just to walk into town. Have a look around, grab a coffee and then walk back again. That’s exactly what we did. Cunard had laid on transport for the less mobile guests, to get them into town or actually up to the port gate but it was only about 700 m and a flat walk out of the port, so we chose to do that.

Laid back from the promenade was the main shopping street which is full of picturesque little shops, cafes and restaurants, so we strolled along there window shopping until we came to a small fort “Real Castillo de Santa Catalina” overlooking the bay, with views back to the ship. There was a nice little cafe close by, where we sat for a time with a coffee before heading home for lunch.

My afternoon was well spent, watching the Six Nations rugby, Wales vs Ireland first and then the Calcutta cup match between England and Scotland. The only downside was my beloved Blackburn Rovers lost 3-0 away to Swansea.
Jane spent the afternoon afternoon up on the Broadwalk sunbathing and then met up with Pam and Max to earn a paltry 11/20 in the Afternoon Trivia in the Carinthia Lounge.

We went off piste at dinner with the Maitre’D’s speciality of Tequila King Prawns flambeed at table side followed by Cherries Jubilee which was also flambeed table side. Both were delicious
