I’d had a better night’s sleep than yesterday, but for better just read an awful night’s sleep, with a pounding head, sore throat, and constant cough. I did sleep longer though so I’m feeling less drained than yesterday I dragged myself out of bed for a shower and we headed up to breakfast where we had a full table.

Our Table

I should have realised I was flagging as I didn’t finish my breakfast, but the act of getting up had shaken things up a little and I felt a little better. After breakfast we headed down to the Winter Garden for the morning trivia quiz with one of our table mates. Jane ordered up the Flu Buster again, for the both of us this time and hopefully the dose of vitamin C will banish my lurgy. It was nowhere near as sharp as Wednesday’s but it tasted OK. We got 17/20 with a winning score of 19.

I was still feeling awful so we went back to the room to lie down as I was starting to flag. We needed to get a wriggle on to get to Mykonos on time, I think Captain Hoyt said we had to make 21kts, so that combined with a 40kt wind speed meant it was quite blowy on deck. We went up for lunch where we were all alone today, the others were eating in the courtyard, and after lunch we went to have a look at deck 12 to see if we could lie out in the sun but there were no beds out because of the weather/wind so we went to sit in the lounge and have a coffee and decide on our plan of action for the day.

We headed back to the room again I wanted one of the horrible Spanish Lemsips to see if it would taste any better hot and more importantly make me feel any better. It did neither. Not to worry I still had the cricket to cheer me up and make me feel better. Looks like Jane was going to be the only one at dinner as I was feeling really rotten. She had arranged to meet the Ladies on our table in the Grills Lounge early and have an early dinner.

I ordered room service, the good thing was I could order from the PG menu so I wouldn’t miss out as tonight’s menu was a good one with Rack of Lamb, Barbary Duck and Prawn Thai red curry. I plumped for the curry as that would be the one I would be able to taste.

While I was laid up in my sick bed, Jane was off gallivanting with the ladies, having her best night so far on the cruise. They’d gone to the Movie quiz in the Golden Lion Pub and had a great night, which says a lot about my company!
