We set off from New Milton at 12:30 and had an uneventful drive to the Mayflower Terminal. After finding a porter and getting rid of our luggage we headed on through to departures and on presenting our e-tickets we were ushered to the priority queue. All was looking good until the computer in the next line gave up the ghost and the person in that queue was told to take our place, and then the next in that line was ushered in front of us. To say I was a little miffed is an understatement, we were the moved to the back of another line, unlike the people who got moved in front of us, and then to top it all the computer in this line failed as well, so we got moved yet again. Ah well, it all worked out in the end and we ended up on board within 45 minutes.

I wanted to check on the equipment. It was a disappointment to se so many broken pieces, but to top it all, of all the treadmills, there was only one I can use. I’m 6’6″ tall, and I hit my head on the ceiling on all of them except for one on the end. This isn’t acceptable as there is no reason that some of the treadmills couldn’t be repositioned to give enough clearance for us tall people.
We went back to the cabin, to find our luggage, and unpacked before Muster. After Muster it was Commodore O’clock. The draught beer is London Pride, which has me happy, Jane had a Cosmopolitan to start, followed by a Breakfast Martini. All too soon it was 18:00 and we had to depart for our room and get ready for dinner. We’re on the second sitting, table 373. I would normally go and have a recce to see where our table is, but there were big queues to see the MaĆ®tre’D so I didn’t bother. We had requested a table of 10, let’s see what we’ve got……
